Project Description<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Munich Sports Campus project presented a particular challenge due to its pilot nature within the city and the late start to the planning phase.<\/p>\n

The fa\u00e7ade design had to be developed in parallel by two design teams, or rather two firms, within a very tight timeframe.<\/p>\n

The tasks were divided according to fa\u00e7ade materials: one team worked on the metal and mullion-transom fa\u00e7ade, whilst the second team \u2013 under my leadership \u2013 took charge of the timber structure, green facade system, and wooden external walls<\/p>\n

Technical Solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A clear modular fa\u00e7ade structure was developed to meet the requirements for fire safety and rapid installation.<\/p>\n

The use of timber cladding in combination with OSB boards enabled compliance with fire safety requirements whilst ensuring cost-effective execution.<\/p>\n

The modules were structurally designed and subdivided in such a way as to allow for efficient prefabrication and installation, whilst simultaneously forming the structural basis for the mullion-transom fa\u00e7ade to be installed subsequently.<\/p>\n

Another component of the solution was the integration of a green fa\u00e7ade. To this end, designated areas for suspended planting systems and a metal substructure between the storeys were provided.<\/p>\n
